Cookie Policy

Last updated: 15.07.2026

This Cookie Policy explains how ASTECH SOFT SRL (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies across the Bible Seed mobile app and our website at https://thebibleseed.com, in line with the EU ePrivacy rules and the GDPR. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. The app and the website are different

The Bible Seed mobile app does not use browser cookies. To work, it stores data locally on your device (for example, your settings and session) using the operating system’s storage — this is strictly necessary for the app to function and is not used for advertising.

The Bible Seed website uses cookies and similar technologies as described below.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small files stored on your device by a website. “Similar technologies” include local storage, device identifiers and software development kits (SDKs) that read or write information on your device. Some are strictly necessary; others run only with your consent.

Cookies can be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by a provider whose service we use), and either session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (which remain for a set period or until you delete them).

3. Categories we use on the website

  • Strictly necessary — required for the site to work (e.g. security, load balancing, remembering your cookie choices). These do not need consent.

  • Preferences — remember choices such as your language and selected Bible translation. Used only with your consent.

  • Analytics — help us understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it. Provided by Google Analytics 4. Used only with your consent.

We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising or for selling your data.

4. Technologies in the app

Instead of browser cookies, the app relies on the following, so it can work reliably and improve over time:

  • Local storage & session — keeps your settings, language, translation and reading preferences on your device. Strictly necessary.

  • Firebase Analytics — anonymous or pseudonymous usage statistics to help us improve the app. Used with your consent where required.

  • Firebase Crashlytics — automatic crash and error reports (device model, OS, app version, crash logs). These do not intentionally include your journal, prayers or reading history.

  • Subscription management (RevenueCat, App Store & Google Play billing) — a pseudonymous app-user identifier and your subscription status, so premium features unlock correctly. We never receive your full card number.

  • Push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging, Apple Push Notification service) — if you enable them, a notification token is used to deliver reminders to your device. You can turn these off anytime in your device settings.

5. What we never use

Bible Seed is designed to respect your privacy. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party ad networks, behavioural or cross-context advertising, retargeting, social-media tracking pixels, cross-app or cross-site tracking, or device fingerprinting. We do not sell or share your personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use any advertising identifier for advertising.

6. Your consent

Website: the first time you visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or reject non-essential (preferences and analytics) cookies. Where implemented, we use Google Consent Mode v2 to respect your choices. Strictly necessary cookies are always on.

App: analytics and notifications are enabled only where required by law and after the necessary permission or consent, including, on iOS, any applicable App Tracking Transparency prompt.

You can withdraw consent at any time. Doing so does not affect anything done before you withdrew.

7. Managing your choices

  • Website — use the cookie banner, or the “Cookie Settings” link on the site, or your browser settings to accept, reject or delete cookies. Rejecting non-essential cookies will not stop you using the site.

  • iOS — Settings → Privacy & Security; Settings → Notifications.

  • Android — Settings → Privacy; Settings → Notifications.

8. U.S. state privacy (California and similar states)

If you live in California or another U.S. state with comparable privacy laws, please note that we do not “sell” your personal information and do not “share” it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA. Because we do not sell or share, no “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” action is needed — but you keep all the rights described below, and we will not treat you differently for using them.

9. International transfers

Some providers — including Google, Apple and RevenueCat — may process information outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. When this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You can request more information at support@thebibleseed.com

10. Retention and your rights

Cookies are either session technologies (deleted when you close your browser or end your session) or persistent technologies (kept for a set period or until deleted). Retention varies by provider. You can clear most stored information anytime through your browser or by clearing the app’s data.

Where personal data is processed through these technologies, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Romania, the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP, dataprotection.ro); in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO, ico.org.uk); or with the authority in your country or state of residence. More detail is in our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in law, technology or our practices. If a change is material, we will let you know in the app or on the website before it takes effect. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version.
